Kellin Walker is a Senior Project Manager for the AES Hawaiʻi team. As a Senior Project Manager, Kellin oversaw construction of our Waikoloa Solar + Storage project located on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Kellin began his career in construction as a welder’s helper working on coal-fired power plants, eventually learning and working his way into high pressure pipe and boiler tube welding. After years of working in the energy industry, Kellin realized his goal of obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering with the intent to use his background of field work and his knowledge of engineering to bridge the gap between blue and white collar jobs.

“I’m fortunate to have the background of boots-on-the-ground work combined with an education in engineering. It allows me to speak both ‘languages’ and really connect with the people who I lead. Shifting from working in fossil fuels to renewable energy was a no-brainer for me. It’s my goal to give back to the world and people that have given so much to me. I want to make this world a better place for my sons to grow up.”
